Bullying is when individuals or groups seek to harm, intimidate or coerce someone who is perceived to be vulnerable (Oxford English Dictionary, 2018). It can involve people of any age, and can happen anywhere – at home, school or using digital technologies (cyberbullying). This means it can happen at any time. *
Reports from the NSPCC revealed that a high number of children receive counselling sessions on a yearly basis due to bullying.
Karate teaches individuals how to handle themselves in difficult situations without the need of violence. Discipline is the foundation of Karate. Without discipline all else fails.
Once an individual understands the principles of discipline they understand self control in their training, and this leads to a stronger sense of confidence in themselves. This new found confidence paves the way to a stronger sense of being and permutates down through all aspects of a persons life.
Students at the club are taught to respect each other, be firm but fair, and to always train to the best of their abilities. These are the foundations for a well balanced and confident future for all our students.
Being able to protect yourself when in a crisis can be of the utmost benefit and can sometimes mean the difference between walking away to being the victim of an out of control conflict.
Having a good understanding of Karate allows you to unleash the "Stronger You" and builds confidence to say "NO" to danger.
Students range from men, women and children with ages from five to "as old as you are capable". So, why not give it a go? What have you to lose, except the experience.
We are please to anounce that the club now has a much welcomed and appreciated sponsor.
The Echo, based in Echo Square, Gravesend, can obviously see the value in good Karate training, the need for the correct kit and the ability to be financially accessible to its members.
For this, we give a great big thank you for the generosity and faith that you are showing in the club.
